AUSTIN, Texas – The past five years haven’t been easy for Court McGee, but no one’s flattened him the way Jeremiah Wells did Saturday. Wells (11-2-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) made McGee (21-11 MMA, 10-10 UFC) stiff as a board with a first-round knockout at UFC on ESPN 37 in Austin, Texas. That Wells won by finish isn’t a surprise; he has five straight stoppage wins. But he became just the second fighter to stop McGee, whose opponents typically need the judges to get wins over him. After he took McGee out, Wells set his sights on Alex Morono, who has three straight wins, all in 2021 – including a TKO over Donald Cerrone.
