Yes, from a physical standpoint, he was in control, too. Cannonier (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) drilled Asker (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with a left that planted him on the canvas, and then he fired off some of the heaviest elbows Croatia had ever seen on his way to a $50,000 bonus check on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 86. After the fight, which streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia, ahead of additional prelims and a main card on FOX Sports 1, Cannonier gave credit to the mental side of things. “I just tried to dial in, stay focused and work the game plan, which was to stay in his face and hopefully get the knockout in the first round,” Cannonier said after the fight. “I don’t really get nervous or too hyped or anything in fights.
