LINCOLN, Neb. – For a stretch of more than three years from 2010-2013, Jake Ellenberger climbed the welterweight ladder in the UFC and established himself as one of the best in the world. With eight wins in nine fights against names like Jake Shields, Diego Sanchez and Nate Marquardt, Ellenberger was on the cusp of a title shot. A decision loss to Rory MacDonald halted his move to the top, and a look at his record since then might say to some that the bottom fell out. Ellenberger has dropped eight of his past 10 fights.
