Jake Ellenberger had to withdraw from the main event of the UFC’s planned Singapore debut in January due to injury. Ellenberger on Friday revealed to FoxSports.com that the injury that forced him out of the fight with former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine is an injured hamstring that will keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks. There appears to be no long term damage that would necessitate surgery, but it is severe enough that he wouldn’t have an appropriate training camp for the five-round main event bout. “Yeah it’s been a rough week,” Ellenberger told Fox Sports. “It was a hamstring injury, just one of those things.
