British lightweight striker Marc Diakiese has been through an emotional rollercoaster as his life both in and out of the octagon went through a tough spell. But now “The Bonecrusher” says he has made it through the bad times and is ready to start an exciting new chapter in his fighting career. Speaking with MMA Junkie, Diakiese (13-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) reflected on his victory over Joseph Duffy at UFC on ESPN+ 5 in London back in March, and explained that his emotional response to his win came not from relief at snapping his three-fight losing streak, but more as a result of the win effectively drawing a line in a tumultuous time in his life. “I was going through so much in my personal life and just trying to deal with that,” Diakiese explained. “It was just a weight off my shoulders. I put in the work, I went through a lot of stuff, and it all paid off in the end.” After surging into the UFC on a wave of impressive wins and making a great start to life in the octagon, Diakiese made a big change.
