But did the UFC make the right call? In this week’s new edition of “Headline Hunting,” veteran MMA analyst “Showdown” Joe Ferraro and MMAjunkie lead staff reporter John Morgan give their takes, including why one of them believes it would have been “irresponsible” for the UFC to do anything else but indefinitely suspend Jones and strip him of his title. Jones (21-1 MMA, 15-1 UFC), of course, was stripped of the title on Tuesday and pulled from next month’s UFC 187 pay-per-view headliner, and he now faces an an indefinite suspension following his involvement in a Sunday hit-and-run accident . Jones reportedly fled the scene of the accident before returning to grab some cash . Rental-car paperwork in the wrecked SUV linked it to Jones, and a marijuana pipe and marijuana were found inside. An arrest warrant was ultimately issued , and Jones turned himself into authorities and was released on bail on Monday.
