For Ellenberger (31-11 MMA, 9-8 UFC), the sting of those losses served as a sort of fuel as he prepared to face Matt Brown (20-15 MMA, 13-9 UFC) on the pay-per-view main card of UFC 201 at Philips Arena in Atlanta. Despite his status as a fairly sizable underdog coming into the bout, Ellenberger stunned Brown with a liver kick and punches to score the knockout at the 1:46 mark of the opening round.
