A former Bellator matchmaker is suing the Viacom-owned promotion and its corporate parent for wrongful termination. In a suit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Zach Light, a former MMA fighter and coach based in Huntington Beach, Calif., claims he was required to break laws to keep his job under Bellator’s new management regime, at one point booking mismatches he claims were the same as fight fixing. Light claims during his time at Bellator, the promotion submitted forged and invalid medicals to state regulators, hired an MMA manager with active conflicts of interest, and allowed a suspended driver to transport fighters in the promotion’s van.
