It was her UFC debut, and she came in as one of the most highly touted bantamweights in the world with mounds of expectations heaped on her, already considered a chosen one of sorts to eventually give a challenge to all-universe champion Ronda Rousey. So when she had to escape UFC 184 in Los Angeles with a split-decision win against Raquel Pennington, just minutes before Rousey took the cage and stopped Cat Zingano in 14 seconds, a little bit of air seemed to go out of the balloon. “There’s a ton of nerves for every fight I’ve been in,” Holm said on Monday in San Diego, where she’ll fight Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night 71 on Wednesday.
