John Yoo The day he was let go as a Bellator MMA employee because of cuts, John Yoo went into the office of Scott Coker, the new Bellator president. Yoo, a former financial industry professional and budding MMA fighter, had been an executive assistant for Coker and, before him, to Bjorn Rebney, the former Bellator chairman and CEO, and Tim Danaher, the organization’s former COO. He had taken the job to get an inside look at the MMA industry. It was November 2014, and he had been working for Bellator for less than a year, but he had already seen a change in regime and gained plenty of the experience he was looking for. He had one main message he wanted to leave with Coker. “I had communicated when I worked there (that he trained and fought in MMA), but I don’t think they knew my commitment,” Yoo told MMAjunkie
