Eight months after his most recent fight, which was a disappointing submission loss to Godofredo Pepey in Brazil when he got caught with a flying triangle choke, Fili was desperate to get back in the win column because at this point, he needs to keep up with the Joneses. Or, more aptly, the Mendeses and Fabers. On Saturday at UFC Fight Night 78 at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Mexico, Fili (15-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) got back on track, and in a big way with a knockout win over Gabriel Benitez (18-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC). The finish came after a perfectly placed head kick for Fili.
