While UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum still hopes the promotion will see fit to give him a rematch with Stipe Miocic, he’s going to work on a backup plan just in case. Werdum’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, today told MMAjunkie his client sees a potential matchup with fellow heavyweight submission artist Josh Barnett as an appealing alternative. “Fabricio wants a chance to win back his belt, but we’re not sure that’s the direction the UFC wants to go right now,” Abdelaziz told MMAjunkie
