The Ohio Athletic Commission wasn’t pleased with Fabricio Werdum and Edmund Tarverdyan, but its chief decided against penalizing them after a near-fight in the octagon at UFC 203. Although OAC Executive Director Bernie Profato earlier in the week took a hard stance when he fined heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem $500 for showing up late to the event’s early weigh-ins, he told MMAjunkie he opted for a verbal warning over administrative action after Werdum front-kicked Travis Browne’s coach. “Being a former cop, you sometimes find you did better giving them a break,” Profato told MMAjunkie. Profato said the ex-heavyweight champion and coach were contrite when confronted with the issue. “I shook hands with them and said, ‘This is (expletive) guy, this is TV,” Profato said
