LAS VEGAS – Aleksa Camur got a little help from his friend as he earned a UFC contract at Dana White’s Contender Series 22 on Tuesday night. But, in truth, he probably didn’t need the assistance. Camur’s Strong Style Fight Team colleague, former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic , was on the phone with UFC president White immediately after Camur’s spectacular finish of Fabio Cherant as Miocic demanded his boss give his teammate a UFC contract. But that decision was almost certainly already made thanks to Camur’s perfectly timed jumping-knee that spelled the end of the night for Cherant and guaranteed the 23-year-old light heavyweight a deal. Speaking backstage afterward, Camur (5-0) was still in disbelief after his life-changing victory. “It’s absolutely insane, man,” Camur smiled.
