The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences this week nominated UFC Presents: Breaking Ground, Ronda Rousey for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Sports Documentary. The one-hour documentary originally aired Sept. 2 on FOX Sports 1, as part of the lead-up to UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey ’s coaching stint on The Ultimate Fighter, which culminated in a rematch with former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate. “It’s an honor to receive a Sports Emmy Nomination,” UFC president Dana White said. “Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest stars in sports right now and ‘Breaking Ground’ took people behind the scenes of her career like never before.
