After suffering a gruesome leg break , Weidman returned from an over two-year long layoff against Brad Tavares this past Saturday at UFC 292. Although he fell short in a unanimous decision loss , Weidman was able to show toughness by staying up after Tavares chopped away at his legs. Tavares attacked both of Weidman’s legs, which severely hindered his movement. But Weidman (15-7 MMA, 11-7 UFC) pushed through and never stopped fighting. “I know Chris and I’ve spoken with Chris since the fight,” Cormier said on his ESPN show, “DC & RC.” “He is not happy to just have been there.
