Daniel Cormier ’s UFC 241 loss to Stipe Miocic was a tough pill for the former UFC heavyweight champion to swallow. While Cormier (22-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) s poke to the media following the event and touched on a number of topics , “DC” took additional time Monday to post to Instagram a message to his supporters. The 40-year-old fighter apologized to his family, friends, and team for the loss Saturday night at Honda Cener in Anaheim, Calif. and wrote, “I can’t stress the disappointment, I am so sorry to all I have let down.” The former UFC double champion also congratulated Miocic (19-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC) on the victory, calling the winningest champion in the promotion’s heavyweight history, “the definition of Cleveland tough.” Cormier also expressed gratitude towards UFC president Dana White and the company in general for their help throughout the years, “ @danawhite And all at the @ufc thank you all for everything you have done for me and my family,” he wrote
