At this point, Vitor Belfort ‘s title shot against UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman appears to be a foregone conclusion, at least from the UFC’s side. With three straights high-profile wins – all of which earned “Knockout of the Night” awards in 2013 – Belfort has been tapped the next fighter to challenge Weidman, the UFC’s reigning 185-pound champion. However, first up for the 37-year-old Belfort is his meeting with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which takes place later today in Las Vegas. Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6 UFC) hopes to secure a license but must first answer for a failed drug test earlier this year, which showed a spike in his testosterone levels .
