Although Jedrzejczyk (11-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) had blown away her recent competition within a few rounds, Letourneau (8-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) stood toe-to-toe and took the champion’s best shots over five rounds before losing a unanimous decision . Letourneau was a massive betting underdog and was given little chance of victory. She wasn’t able to pull off a shocking upset like Holly Holm did over Ronda Rousey in UFC 193’s main event, but she surpassed the expectations of most, including UFC President Dana White. “At the UFC, we always believed in Valerie Letourneau. She’s big, strong for that division, and now she’s at least going to sit in the rankings where she belongs,” White said on “ The Joe Rogan Experience ” podcast
