If Conor McGregor wins the lightweight championship at UFC 205 on Nov. 12 in New York , he will become the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two different weight classes simultaneously. It was announced late Monday that McGregor would retain his featherweight title while challenging Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight championship at UFC New York . Randy Couture and BJ Penn both held belts in different UFC divisions, but neither held them simultaneously.
