SACRAMENTO – UFC President Dana White is well-aware that Cody McKenzie is a colorful character. But White said the UFC lightweight should never have been allowed to enter the cage with a tag hanging from his shorts (see the video) , which was seen during his fight with Sam Stout on the FOX Sports 1-televised preliminary-card of UFC on FOX 9. “What that was is UFC amateur hour,” spat White at the event’s post-fight press conference at Sacramento’s Sleep Train Arena. White said the UFC usually checks fighters and their attire before sending them out to the octagon. But apparently there was a breakdown in procedure, and that allowed McKenzie (14-4 MMA, 3-4 UFC) to enter the cage with his freshly purchased attire, which looked more suited for a basketball game than an MMA fight with Stout (20-9-1 MA, 9-8 UFC)
