SAN ANTONIO – Cub Swanson doesn’t sound anxious to wait another 11 months for his next fight. Following an impressive decision win over Jeremy Stephens (23-10 MMA, 10-9 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 44 headliner, Swanson said he’s open to taking another fight if circumstances keep him from a shot at the winner of a title rematch between featherweight champ Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes in August at UFC 176. “I’m not really one to cry about things, so I’m just excited to be in the position I’m in,” Swanson (21-5 MMA, 6-1 UFC) told MMAjunkie after the event, which aired on FOX Sport 1 from AT&T Center in San Antonio. “I’ve worked real hard, so if another fight was a good opportunity for me, then I would take it. “I’m not really trying to wait forever, so we’ll see what happens.” The good news for Swanson is that whether he fights later this year or winds up waiting, he isn’t affected by inactivity
