After all, the bout was in opponent Mauricio Rua ’s native Brazil. Anderson (8-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) turned out to be correct when Rua (24-10 MMA, 8-8 UFC) took the split decision by scores of 29-28, 28-29 and 29-28. In the immediate aftermath, Anderson’s team was far more upset than the light heavyweight.
