Conor McGregor Offered to Fight Dustin Poirier, Save UFC Dublin When the news broke that Joseph Duffy had suffered a concussion during a recent sparring session and was medically unfit for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night Dublin main event against Dustin Poirier , interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor offered to step in as Duffy’s replacement… for a price. “The Notorious” went on Twitter following the announcement and said he’d be willing to give Poirier a rematch. The two fought at UFC 178 in September 2014 with McGregor scoring a first-round technical knockout over “The Diamond.” So there was no trepidation on his part to offer a rematch, although we all know that the UFC was unlikely to pull the trigger on such a bout. McGregor also took a shot at Duffy, the last fighter to defeat him.
