Conor McGregor said his fellow Irishmen aren’t here merely to take part in the UFC. Instead, he said they’re going to take over, and he even joked that could mean UFC President Dana White’s job. By now, you’ve no doubt heard about Conor McGregor ‘s impressive win over featherweight Diego Brandao in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 46 headliner. You’ve probably heard about the deafening crowd at The O2 in Dublin, the apparent record number of streams for the UFC Fight Pass digital network, and the UFC’s possible interest in bringing a massive soccer-stadium show back to the fight-crazed country. For a destination that hadn’t hosted a UFC event in five years – and just one overall before Saturday – Ireland delivered one of the best fight weekends in recent MMA history, especially among non-pay-per-view events. McGregor, the outspoken and brash 26-year-old who provided most of the promotional muscle in the lead-up to the event (check out video of the crowd’s post-fight celebration ), made some bold claims afterward.
