While a formal agreement has yet to be reached for a boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor , the UFC lightweight champ has already begun formal preparation. That’s according to his longtime coach, John Kavanagh, who told FOX Sports Australia he believes the fight will happen this year and has already begun to prepare McGregor for the challenge. “In my mind, it’s on,” Kavanagh said. “That’s the mentality we’re in. Like you said, there’s a lot of fingers in the pie on this one.
