East (12-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) got his UFC call to face Walt Harris (7-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) at UFC 197 thanks to an impressive and quick TKO of Kevin Asplunnd at Legacy FC 51 in February while UFC President Dana White was in Minnesota to film an episode of “Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight.” “I had heard Dana was probably going to go out there,” East recalled of that night and the pressure on him to perform knowing it might get him a UFC deal.
