Though there is a ceremonial weigh-in the afternoon, the early morning weigh-ins are the official proceedings of record (in other words, the ones that count). Punk was among the first few fighters to step on the scale, and he didn’t disappoint, hitting the 170-pound mark for his welterweight fight with Mickey Gall. The bout is Punk’s first, not just in the UFC, but in his mixed martial arts career, which was spurred on after he quit the WWE.
