Ciryl Gane accepts that if he never gets to fight UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou again, that’s fine. Gane (10-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) was close to dethroning Ngannou in their title unification bout at UFC 270 in January, but he ultimately fell short. Gane was up two rounds on two of the judges’ scorecards, but Ngannou (17-3 MMA, 12-2 UFC) was able to use his grappling to rally and win the fight . It was a tough pill to swallow for the formerly unbeaten Frenchman. And while it took time for him to get over the loss, he has now moved on from the drama-filled chapter of fighting his former teammate. “I’m OK,” Gane told MMA Junkie.
