Chris Cariaso likes his chances going into Saturday’s UFC 178 main event against flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, even if MMA oddsmakers feel differently. Cariaso (17-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) currently sits as a roughly 10-1 underdog, which means outsiders give him little hope of dethroning 125-pound champ Johnson (20-2-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) at UFC 178, which takes place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The title fight tops the pay-per-view main card following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. Betting odds hardly guarantee who will win a competition, and Cariaso plans to show the skeptics why he should be regarded as the world’s No. 1 flyweight. “Wherever the fight goes, I’ll be ready for it,” Cariaso told MMAjunkie.
