Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is facing six charges following his arrest for an alleged shooting on Monday in San Jose, Calif., with police releasing a “statement of facts” on the case Wednesday. In a criminal complaint acquired by MMA Junkie through the Santa Clara County Superior Court, Velasquez has been charged with attempted murder (one count), shooting at a motor vehicle or aircraft (one count), assault with a firearm (three counts), assault with a deadly weapon (three counts), willfully discharging a firearm from a vehicle (one count), and carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony (one count). If found guilty of attempted murder, Velasquez faces a minimum of 20 years and up to life in prison, according to the California penal code . He faces additional time if found guilty of other counts. Velasquez, 39, was arraigned Wednesday afternoon. According to ABC-7 , no bail was set, and three witness protective orders were issued.
