BT Sport, which airs UFC programming in the United Kingdom, has released its first video promo ahead of next week’s UFC 242 event, and it’s all about the hype behind the current UFC lightweight champ. The undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov is the subject of the promo reel, with the tagline “He fights for his people, he fights for his legacy.” Starting with his rise from a tough life in Dagestan and following his ride through the UFC lightweight ranks, the promo marks the journey Nurmagomedov has taken to the top of the sport – including his massive rivalry fight with Conor McGregor. Nurmagomedov (27-0 MMA, 11-0 UFC) returns to action Sept. 7 when he takes on Dustin Poirier (25-5 MMA, 17-4 UFC) in the main event of UFC 242, which takes place at The Arena at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and ESPN+.
