Bethe Correia recently suffered an injury to her right eye and underwent successful surgery, according to a report on Wednesday. UFC Tonight reported that Correia suffered a detached retina and had an operation done three weeks ago. The fighter hopes to return by March or April, according to her manager. Correia came to the UFC in December of 2013, picking up three straight wins in the Octagon. Two of her victories came over training partners and friends of UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey , a streak that prompted Correia to call out the champion. Rousey said she would oblige Correia if given the opportunity, recently telling MMAWeekly.com that she hopes she gets a chance to fight the rising contender in the future.
