Brandon Halsey Bellator MMA middleweight champion Brandon Halsey (8-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) will look to defend his title for the first time when he meets Kendall Grove (21-14 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) at Bellator 137. Bellator officials today announced the pairing, which serves as the main event of Bellator 137 on May 15 at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif. The evening’s main card airs on Spike TV following prelims on MMAjunkie. “Bull” Halsey is an undefeated 28-year-old who began his MMA career in 2012 who has contested six of his eight career bouts in his native California. With six wins already under the Bellator MMA banner, Halsey claimed the Bellator MMA middleweight title with a September win over then-champ Alexander Shlemenko that took just 35 seconds. Meanwhile, “Da Spyder” Grove is perhaps best known as the former winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 3.” He would go on to compete 13 times in the UFC before a 2011 release.
