MMA touched down in the Connecticut city of Bridgeport for the first time this past Saturday, and the fans at Webster Bank Arena seemed to get their money’s worth. Bellator is in Connecticut regularly, but until Saturday had always been at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville – on tribal grounds. But after full MMA sanctioning was passed in the state earlier this year, cities like Bridgeport and the capital of Hartford suddenly are in the mix. (Bridgeport is just 60 miles northeast of New York City.) But Saturday’s event turned out to be more historic than just because of the city it was in. Every one of Bellator 225’s 14 bouts ended in a finish – nothing went the distance.
