Dave Jansen Bellator lightweight contender Dave Jansen doesn’t take offense to champ Will Brooks’ dismissal of his abilities. Brooks (15-1 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) said Jansen (20-2 MMA, 7-0 BMMA) strikes him as “a journeyman type of guy” and not “a steamroller guy, or a guy that people are extremely impressed by” despite seven straight wins – one more than his streak of six. “I most certainly am on a journey, man,” joked Jansen. If there’s anything offensive from Brooks, he added, it’s that the champ isn’t particularly creative in the way he promotes a fight, in this case a headliner at Friday’s Bellator 136 at Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif. “Will Brooks is just a walking cliche,” Jansen told MMAjunkie Radio.
