Bellator MMA heavyweight champion Vitaly Minakov could be on the shelf for a while after his most recent title defense. Minakov defended his belt with a unanimous decision win over Cheick Kongo this past Friday at Bellator 115. But the fighter could be out as long as six months without clearance from a doctor. Minakov was given a 180-day medical suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission following his main-event victory. But that lengthy term would be shortened to 45 days if a doctor clears his left shoulder.
