Seven months a year, I was doing physical therapy – five months a year, I was training.” Not a good ratio for a professional fighter, to be sure. Although Nogueira (34-10-1 MMA, 5-6 UFC) was once renowned for his durability, he knew things weren’t going to get any better. So he accepted an offer from UFC President Dana White to retire and take a role behind the scenes with the promotion in his native Brazil.
