LAS VEGAS – Andre Fili didn’t voluntarily want to take this much time off ahead of UFC on ESPN 35. Fili (21-8 MMA, 9-7-1 UFC), who opted to fight out his contract, hasn’t competed since a no contest against Daniel Piñeda at UFC Fight Night 190 last June and wasn’t able to get another fight booked until he eventually signed a new five-fight deal. The 31-year-old Team Alpha Male fighter returns Saturday at the UFC Apex when he takes on Joanderson Brito (12-3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC).
