Anderson Silva will make the shocking move of stepping into a fight on a card he wasn’t slated for on just two days’ notice when he faces Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 on Saturday night. After Jon Jones (22-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) was removed from the event due to potential USADA doping violation, the UFC scrambled to find an opponent to face 205-pound Cormier (17-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) at the pay-per-view event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. That opponent was Silva (33-7 MMA, 16-3 UFC), the former longtime UFC middleweight titleholder.
