ABU DHABI – Alexander Volkanovski is getting a second go at achieving his dream of becoming a two-division UFC champion. The UFC featherweight titleholder is moving back up to 155 pounds to challenge champion Islam Makhachev in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 294 at Etihad Arena. Volkanovski (26-2 MMA, 13-1 UFC) took the fight on 12 days’ notice, as he’s replacing an injured Charles Oliveira. Although Volkanovski has a tough task in order to become UFC champ-champ, his dream is to be much more.
