(This story originally appeared on usatoday.com .) The mayor of Albuquerque, hometown of Holly Holm , had some choice words after Holm knocked out Ronda Rousey on Saturday night at UFC 193. Choice, that is, considering the profane and inflammatory words Rousey chose to use in describing Holm the day before the fight. “What do they say, nice guys never win?” Mayor Richard Berry told USA TODAY Sports on Sunday. “Well, last night a nice girl won.” Berry sidestepped a direct question about Rousey’s pre-fight tirade, which began when she rushed Holm at the weigh-in. Later, on her Instagram account, Rousey called her opponent obscene names , deriding Holm for being a “preacher’s daughter” and adding, “I see through your fake sweet act now … and I’m really going to enjoy the beating I give you.” Said the mayor: “People have their style. People can say what they want to say.
