Short of calling Zach Makovsky ‘s first UFC victory a fairytale win, it certainly had elements of one. Makovsky made some waves just shy of a year ago, and not for the right reasons. After a two-fight skid under the Bellator MMA banner, including a fight that saw him lose his bantamweight title to current champ Eduardo Dantas, Makovsky was cut loose by the promotion and sent off to fight his way back to prominence, or so he hoped. Determined to work his way back to the top as a flyweight, he went out and got two wins, then took a short-notice fight in the UFC. On Saturday, that return to elite status may have officially started with Makovsky’s upset win over Scott Jorgensen (14-8 MMA, 3-4 UFC) at UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento
