Melvin Guillard Melvin Guillard ’s stint with WSOF will not be remembered as a peak moment in the Louisiana native’s career, and it’s now come to an unremarkable end. The news was confirmed to MMAjunkie by both WSOF officials and Guillard’s manager, Malki Kawa. Kawa originally made the announcement via Twitter . Guillard (32-14-2) signed with WSOF after being released by the UFC following a loss to Michael Johnson at UFC Fight Night 38 in March 2014. Following a TKO of Gesias Cavalcante at WSOF 11 in his promotional debut, Guillard was scheduled to challenge Justin Gaethje for the WSOF lightweight title. Guillard missed weight and subsequently the bout became a non-title affair.
