Alexander Shlemenko When it comes to a recent failed drug test, former Bellator MMA champion Alexander Shlemenko isn’t going down without a fight. This past month the California State Athletic Commission announced Shlemenko failed a Bellator 133 drug test but declined to reveal what was found in the fighter’s system, citing state privacy laws. However, MMAjunkie subsequently reported Shlemenko was found with a “significantly elevated” testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio . Shlemenko (52-9 MMA, 12-3 BMMA) who lost the middleweight title this past September to Brandon Halsey, rebounded at Bellator 133 with a spinning backfist knockout of Melvin Manhoef (29-13-1 MMA, 1-2 BMMA).
