Sinead O’Connor, the acclaimed Irish artist who burst onto the music scene with “Nothing Compares 2 U,” has died. She was 56. O’Connor’s family confirmed her death in a statement to the BBC . “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad,” the statement read. “Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.” News of O’Connor’s death garnered a reaction from former UFC two-division champion and fellow Irish star Conor McGregor , who poignantly wrote “Gutted” accompanied by a broken heart emoji in a quote tweet of a video from UFC 189
