The days of fighters being slapped with hefty sanctions after testing positive for cannabis may soon be a thing of the past. The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports (ABC) has released its latest set of recommendations, with the body’s medical advisory committee stating that the use of cannabis in combat sports athletes should be treated as a lesser offense compared to failed tests for other banned substances. The ABC’s official MMA record keeper, MixedMartialArts.com , reported the new guidelines issued by the organization as follows: The ABC Medical Advisory Committee recommends that State and Tribal Commissions adopt the following policy regarding athletes who test positive for THC over 150 ng/ml which is the approved WADA level.
