TAMPA, Fla. –  Niko Price took matters into his own hands to get a spot on the UFC on ESPN+ 19, flying out to Las Vegas to confront matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard. Price (13-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) a self-managed welterweight who meets James Vick (13-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) on Saturday, said he surprised the promotional brass at a Dana White’s Contender Series event over the summer and pushed to get a spot on the card, which takes place at Amalie Arena in Tampa and streams on ESPN. Price has roots in Florida and felt he needed to be on the card to give friends and family a chance to compete in person.
