MEXICO CITY – Kyle Nelson came to town with bad intentions. “The Monster” has entered enemy territory and is looking to take out Marco “Polo” Reyes at UFC on ESPN+ 17. And he thinks Reyes, who’s moving down to featherweight for this one, is in for a rude awakening. “I think Polo (Reyes) is coming down to 145 expecting smaller opponents,” Nelson told MMA Junkie. “Maybe a little less power, but I think when he gets in there with me and realizes that I hit just as hard as any welterweight, I think he’s going to realize he made a mistake.” “I’ll be the bad guy when I knock out the Mexican in Mexico.” Nelson (12-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) might be going into Saturday night with a chip on his shoulder. He has dropped his first two UFC fights, his debut on just a few days’ notice to Diego Ferreira, and most recently a third-round submission loss to Matt Sayles at UFC on ESPN+ 9
