Thiago Santos will look to realize a career-long dream by conquering UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones , a feat that no one has been able to do yet. Santos (21-6 MMA, 13-5 UFC), will take on Jones (24-1 UFC, 18-1 UFC) for the light heavyweight title in the UFC 239 main event, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, on July 6. And he will look to bring the belt home to Rio, “The City of God.” It’s been a long and tumultuous road for Santos, who is always trying to give back to his city. “He has a beautiful social project in the ‘City of God,’” manager Alex Davis said of Santos on MMA Junkie Radio this week.
